a pound GAINED this week. My weight is well and truly stuck these past 2 months. Everything that has gone in my mouth has been tracked. Food that is not already portioned is weighed/measured. My calorie defecit for the last 10 weeks means I should have lost about 8 pounds - but total loss in that time has been just 3 pounds, with just 1 pound lost since the beginning of september.
I did have a couple of poor weeks, but still managed a calorie defecit in those weeks.
I'm hoping this plateau is muscle and water gain - as it's just about coincided with me adding a 30 minute weekly strength training workout. I don't think I could have built that much muscle with such a low level of training, so probably more water than muscle. I did take my measurements and from the middle of august to the middle of october - I had lost several inches. I have also had to throw out some clothes in that time due to them becoming too big.
So, I'm frustrated at lack of progress on the scale, but "quite" confident that it's not showing lack of fat loss. Not as confident as I'd like to be though. I should probably start using the tape measure more often than once every 2 months. The main reason I measure so infrequently though, is that I typically lose inches very slowly and it's equally frustrating to not see any change in measurements either.
Just to be sure I'm not working out too much for my calories, this week I'll change things a little. I'll eat towards the high end of my range every day and not workout everyday. I'll be doing a 10k walk/jog at the weekend, so I'll do cardio Thurs and Fri, strength training Thurs, rest today and Saturday, rest on Monday, cardio on Tuesday. I'm also going to try and get more protein, as I DON'T always get enough of that each day.
I might start replacing one of my work mid-morning snacks with a protein bar. I'm going into town tomorrow, so I'll have a look-see what the health food shop has to offer as our supermarkets don't seem to sell protein bars or shakes.
