A matriarch is passing.

I met this lady in 1975, she is a Aunt on my husbands side of the family. I was a very shy 19 year old out of my depth meeting his family for the first time. You see my husband is from South America of India descent. Me, I am just a plain old blond and blue eyed white girl. That gracious lady never blinked a eye and I was a member of the family from that second forward.
Aunty Kaye is a devout Hindu. She lived a very modest life, so kind and sweet and truly a gentle woman.
Her charity work is renown in her community and over-sea's. She's cooked for all kinds of people in need. Homeless, the neighbour who just had a baby, the man who's wife had died. She would get school supplies and have them shipped off to where the need was the greatest. She raised funds for many projects and added her own money too. She helped cook for her temple, our family weddings etc. Infact the last act of grace this lady did was to cook for a man who was having problems. Aunty Kaye left her own sick bed to cook and bring food to this man. It's like her battery has run out and the last bit of energy she had she used for someone else. I know that she is fine with that because that is truly how she lived her life but I wish that for once she had kept just a tiny bit for herself so that we might have had her in our family just a little bit longer!!
If any one is Hindu who reads this please say a prayer for a peaceful gentle death.
I love you Aunty Kaye!
