First (mini) Race

Sunday, October 23, 2011

My first race complete with bib & timer was today: it was 1 mile and lots of fun, a really good way to 'get my feet wet' with official running events. DH went with me and when the horn sounded, the melee ensued! I had no idea ~ he was over my left shoulder and then he was GONE! I thought he was behind me and I kept drifting to the right, slowing down and looking for him; turns out he was in front of me! Lesson learned: unless you're holding hands or strapped together somehow, forget it at the beginning! But I was smiling the whole time and it was great fun ~ now I am looking forward even MORE to my 5k in a couple weeks! emoticon

Woot!!! that is great! I'm proud of you emoticon

When that horn blows...run your own race darlin'!!

I am going to try running again...despite having lead 2 learn to run training groups with a 5k race at the end, I did not think running was my thing - but I joined a training group here on spark, so wish me luck!!
