Halloween is a fun holiday. It doesn't have unrealistic expectations surrounding it.

Yesterday, my town held a Pumpkinfest. It didn't have many pumpkins, due to the flooding we had back in late August, but it sure did draw a crowd!

There were a lot of vendors selling a lot of foods, mostly the less-than-healthy variety. I had some fries and felt ill after eating only a few - a victory of sorts.

I carved two contributions:

But I think best in show should have gone to pumpkins done by others:

Great pumpkin carvings! We've had several fall festivals in our area but I haven't made it to any. You always have to walk so far and there are rarely any areas along the way to sit and rest. I did take Miss Rosie to a rabies clinic yesterday and could not believe how many people brought their dogs and cats. Thank goodness it was a nice day!

Again, I love your pumpkin carvings.

I went to it too but I didn't see those same pumpkins. I know some people said there weren't enough pumpkins but there sure was a lot of pumpkin FOOD! LOL! I didn't eat anything but it was fun walking around, listening to music, and seeing everyone. My daughter liked watching the North Country Line Dancers for a while.

I do wish that dogs weren't allowed. That was kind of a nuisance having to watch out for them etc and hearing them occasionally fight with one another. Oh well.

I was there from 5:30-7pm. Tried to think where you might be (Relay for Life maybe?) but really wasn't sure where to look for you. I parked at Unity Park which worked out fine. Was able to get in and out without any problems.

Oh...and I tracked my walk! Ha! I did about a mile in 90 minutes so more Spark points! :-) Looking forward to next year.

Love the smells and colors of fall! A little crispness in the air, the warmth of a wool sweater! Caramel apples! . . .oh, did I say that?! LOL!
