Immersed Myself in Landscaping

Saturday, October 22, 2011

From early spring and for as long as the weather holds up, I have immersed myself in landscaping, then sitting back and enjoying the beauty outside.

I reasoned with myself that I was getting a lot of exercise by mowing, pruning, pulling weeds, trimming bushes, etc. but really, I knew when I looked in the mirror that I wasn't seeing the results hoped for. I've been maintaining a very healthy diet and staying within my calorie limits, but that's only one part of what I should have been doing to create that new me.

So last week I started working out with a personal trainer, and he pushed my body to the limit. He actually could be one of the trainers on the Biggest Loser. At the end of the day, I was very close to wanting to - I'm trying to find a nice way to say it, but can't, so I'll just put it out there. I was ready to KILL him. I didn't let my pain deter me and am happy to say I have exercised every day and have now put in a full week.

I'm off to start mowing the lawn for what hopefully will be the last time this year, then I'll walk my 2 miles on the treadmill and work on the other exercises the trainer has me doing.

Wish me the best and hopefully I'm back this time for good with positive results.

Beautiful pic! I admire people with a green thumb since all the gardening genes missed me completely. I consider my yardwork a great workout since our yard is suffering from too little time and a summer that was perfect for growth, especially weeds. The yard and I are both shaping up.

Hope the personal trainer is just what you need to get to those goals. I'm just grateful that I'm more active, a LOT more active than I was. emoticon emoticon
