Thankful Thurday

Thursday, October 20, 2011

1 Thessalonians 5:16 NLT “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Today has been kind of a crappy day. I’m not in the best of moods, I am so bloated I feel like I’m ten sizes larger than I am, I had to pull out a ton of stitches on this thing I’m cross stitching for my dad for Christmas, I feel like I might burst into tears at any moment, my face is all broken out because it’s that time of the month, and I forgot my make up at home so I can’t cover it up. I feel as pretty as an UGLI fruit. The last this I want to be is thankful but an attitude of gratitude helps one keep perspective.

What I am Thankful for Today:
* Having a free night to relax
* Having money in the bank
* Having a roof over my head
* Having a car of my own
* Having food for my table
* Having access to clean water
* Having a job
* My family and friends who love me and are there for me

    Rhea Honey,
    Here's why you should be TRULY grateful - because even tho' ALL of these awful things are happening right now, and even tho' all of these awful feelings are REAL - right now -- and even tho' you write that an "attitude of gratitude helps keep perspective" - especially when you TRULY don't feel it - YOU STEPPED UP, kiddo! You showed up - and in that, you kept your faith where it should ALWAYS be... in His hands.
    Atta' girl - things DO get better - I KNOW you already know that...but how terrific that you are willing to put yourself " out there" when they stink! You're doin' great!
    Bless you ... you're adorable, and your dad is gonna' LOVE his very own cross stitched "thing" from his terrific kid! :):):)
