More cross training

I have to admit, I was a little teeny bit happy this morning that I'm not able to run. I left the house this morning around 5 for a 5:45 spin class. It was cold (for Floridians at least) at around 70 with a strong wind and bouts between drizzle and rain. It was downright miserable and I was really happy to be headed to a nice indoor class.

I burned about 700 calories during the hour class. That is the best thing about spin class. If you really push it hard, you can burn up a ton of calories. I just have to be careful that I don't "allow" myself too many extra calories later on. hmmmmm like maybe the cookie I just got done chopping down. Oh well, I'm heading to another spin class tomorrow morning.

My hip is now just achy with hardly any sharp pains. That is improvement for sure. No matter what happens, I still plan on not running before I see my Doctor next week. The general consensus of my running friends is that I will most likely not be prepared for the half marathon with this much down time and only a month to go before the race. I may check with the race promoter and see if they will transfer my registration to next years race.

There is always another race - but only one right hip joint. My health has to come before my pride or my sense of competition.
