Allergy appointment yesterday

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

So I had my allergy shot extravaganza yesterday. The allergist calls it "Rush" (they try to give 9 shots per arm in order to boost the effectiveness right away. I was able to get all 9 shots in my left arm (that was for dust, mold & cats), but only 4 in my right arm before I started reacting too much (grass, trees & other outdoor stuff). Today, my left arm is all bruised & swollen & my right arm has a welt on it about the size of an egg. Other than that, I feel fine. (my butt doesn't even hurt where I got my steroid shot.)
AND it is finally going to frost tonight, so the allergies should be going away anyway.

They took my blood pressure every 1/2 hr at the dr office yesterday... It was consistently between 102/70 & 104/72. I was pretty pleased with that considering how out of shape I feel right now.

OH! And I found out that drinking black tea can help alleviate asthma symptoms.

emoticon So drink up, my fellow asthmatics out there.

On other news, I have started back up on the eating ONLY healthy foods again. I haven't had any Dew since Friday. I bought ALL healthy foods at the grocery store Saturday night & have been strictly following my menus so far. I even have been tracking my food today on Spark. The only problem is that I can't get Matt on the program. I made turkey tenderloin with wild rice & squash in the crockpot last night.... he said it looked gross & refused to even TRY it. He made a wrap instead. HOW RUDE! It hurt my feelings too. At least he still ate healthy, but gee whiz. A grown man should be able to eat anything once, even squash! I am TRYING to help him eat more veggies due to his heart issues, but oh well. He can stick to corn (which I CAN'T eat due to allergy) and carrots. He hates all other veggies. He has been running between 3 & 10 miles 6 nights/week & I've been sitting on my biscuits, so I guess I'll keep my mouth shut.

Well, as always, thanks for letting me vent.. blogging always helps! emoticon

So glad you are done with your shots for a while. I can't imagine what a pain that is.

It is wonderful that you have determined to eat healthy. Give Matt some time, maybe he will be more interested, the more you cook healthy. If it smells good, he will eat??

Anyway, right now, you need to concern yourself with taking care of you. I wish we were closer and could have a girls day out.

And that comment about sitting on your biscuits was just precious....there's gotta be a Southern girl in there somewhere....
