This is pretty sad, so if you don't want to risk a downer day, please don't read any further.
One of the newer girls from work had a baby a little over a month ago. The pregnancy was a little rough and she was on bed rest for the last trimester or so. It was her first child, so I think everyone was being extra careful. She lives over an hour from work (in a different town) so skipping that highway commute while pregnant was probably a good idea.
The baby girl (named Ava) was born and was a total cutie! Lots of hair, big eyes and just all over cute. Last Wednesday she came down with bacterial meningitis, but was responding well to antibiotics. Both my mom and my brother had meningitis are they are both mostly 100% (brother has trouble walking etc. but his mind is 100% and so is most of his body, mom has bad eyes but glasses correct for that).
On Friday afternoon we got the news that the baby was actually now brain dead and being supported 100% by life support.
Monday we got the news that the baby had died Friday night.
Tuesday is the visitation. Wednesday the funeral.
She was 4 weeks and 1 day old.
Needless to say this is so sad. If is sounds familiar to any of you, yes another person in my work group lost her baby boy last year.
As you can imagine I am having a sucky day. :(.
Tomorrow I will be going to the visitation. The location is about 2 hours away so I will be home late. (sorry under dogs- but I probably wont be posting nor getting in my usual exercise).
So sad. If you don't minding, please keep this family you don't even know in your hearts.
