Week 42: meal plan

My meal plan kind of starts tonight as yesterday I was at a film festival – which was awesome.



Last week I definitely had too much fiber going on between the chili, brown rice and oatmeal. My body is just now starting to recover, so I’ll be eating a lot lighter stuff this week. The rice with the chicken will probably be changed to couscous for this reason. I wonder what sauerkraut is like qua fiber? Eek, 4.1g per cup!

I’m also going to try taking a thermos with me for meal number three this week. That means I don’t have to try and juggle silverware and I’ll easily get another warm meal into myself. I know, the barley in the barley and mushroom soup is going to be a fiber bomb… but it sounds so delicious!

The chicken steam thing is a free sample: it’s a mix that comes with a bag so you can steam it in the oven. As chicken was on sale last week, I grabbed some on Friday and I’ll cook it up today.

The grocery money in an envelop is working out very nicely, now that I seem to be getting the hang of it. I also now know that my old grocery budget of €100 per month wasn’t realistic – I tend to spend about €30 per week, sometimes €40, so now I just budget €200 and know I’ll have more than enough.
