5K for Breast Cancer

Saturday I walked the 5K Stride walk. It was wonderful - I had a great team with me. My nephew came from NY to visit, came up to spend the night and offered to walk with us. He and his girlfriend both came and walked. My daughter walked, my 3 sisters-in-law walked and my niece Kelli walked also. The first time we had a crowd.
The place was crazy with survivors - so many nice folks and their support teams walking and raising money for a good cause. Hope they find a cure soon. Over 40,000 women a year die from this and it's the 3rd leading cause of death for women. First is heart disease, then lung cancer, then breast cancer. There has been little change in treatment in a long time for most of it but for special types of breast cancer - great strides. Lots of good information out on the web from the American CA association, Avon, Komen, and National Breast Cancer Association.
Remember to get your mammogram, check yourself, love yourself enough to be sure you are around for your loved ones!
Get educated and live your life like you mean it. Love and hugs to all BC survivors (and all CA survivors - such a scary disease!).
