A Couple NSVs And What Lies Ahead

Sunday, October 16, 2011

I get points for blogging for a BLC17 weekend challenge I'm doing, so I thought I'd share a few things

#1 today I bought a pair of workout pants from Target - I bought the size Large Fitted Capris without trying them on because I was pretty confident they would fit based on some recent dressing room activity - and they did! even with the bit of bloat I have going on right now - I love that feeling of being able to just choose (or not choose because Large seems to be a pretty popular size and some color choices are gone!)

#2 the girls are not only shrinking, but appear to be actually getting perkier (if that is even possible as one nears 40) - I see many people on SP lamenting the loss of size in the bust, but I am not one of those people - bring it on, I want to choose from the pretty/cute stuff!

What Lies Ahead

After checking the First 5k biggie off my list, I need to look toward the next milestone

40x40 still looms ahead (and is currently still hovering about 5 lbs out of my reach - I think there may be some mental resistance here on my part) - but that isn't until late January

I think I need to look toward something in the short term - holidays maybe?

Thanksgiving should be okay, because I think we are staying home, just the four of us with me cooking - I could make a salad that day if I wanted to

X-mas will be the challenge - we will be visiting and being visited by family - and I haven't fully figured out the family thing yet

So I guess that is the next thing - survive the holidays - sigh...wish it was something easier

Oh my, yes. Haven't begun to plan holiday strategy but it is time to think of it. WTG on the new capris. I agree that new workout clothes are great motivators, especially if they're in smaller sizes than before! Woohoo!

YAY FOR NSVs!!! YAY For #1, and also, I'm with you on the #2, I'm A-OK with them shrinking! :D Love your lists... I'm counting on challenges and my steely resolve (I'm going with fake-it-till-you-make-it) to get me through the holidays *sigh*

Too cool that you found cute workout clothes. That is one thing DD and I decided yesterday at the 5K--we need to build our workout wardrobes. That is a big motivator for me! Now to figure out what I like....

I am SO with you on not missing it if the girls shrink. I am so DONE with big ugly bras, never finding my size in any store and left ordering online, then sending them back because I hate them! Oh, to shop at Victoria's Secret again! That is a dream of mine. My 2 oldest daughters are bra addicts--I've never seen so many cute bras in my life! I will have cute bras someday. I WILL!

The holidays have crossed my mind, too. My mom is the WORST when it comes to loading up everybody with too much food and expecting you to eat more! I know already it's going to be tough... partly because I just love all that instant-weight-gain food! You've motivated me to start planning my strategy now!!!

As for the holidays --- I'd say --- have it at your house - you can control the calorie/fat content of the foods. They probably won't even notice the difference!

    WTG on the workout clothes...etc...!!!

I've been having the same thing with the girls! I am extremely surprised that they're perking at all after being as large as I was, lol! And I definitely want them to keep shrinking!

I also had a couple very similar NSVs the last few days - buying clothes without trying them on and finding out they indeed fit, that sort of thing. It's such agreat feeling isn't it??

That's awesome about the cute clothes and being able to fit in a size you want. I had a similar experience. I found some really cute work out clothes at Wal Mart. I was very happy to find I could fit into the 16-18 yoga pants instead of the 20-22 pants. :) I find having cute excercise clothes is a good motivator.

Regarding the holidays, I think planning out some yummy food that you like and feel good about eating is key. Even when you go visit other family, you can bring a healthy dish to add to the food that's being offered. And make it about enjoying time with family and friends. Instead of making sweet treats, you could try making Christmas decorations together or something. I love to make ornaments (paint glass ones) for gifts. Good luck on your new projects!

emoticon That is emoticon ! I am totally with you about "the girls". LOL ... my husband likes to tell me millons of women are paying to get theirs enlarged and I'm praying for them to shrink down to nothing! Congrats on being able to pick out and fit into a size that makes you happy! That is just the best! Keep up the great work and remember ... the holidays are just like every other day ... they are what you make them. If you have a plan of what is going to work for you, you start out a little farther ahead! It's hard when you are visiting but it also gives you the chance to "think outside the box" to meet your needs!
