Thanks, SP friends, for all the great advice about a dog!

Sunday, October 16, 2011

If I do get a dog, I will heed everyone's advice and find one that takes to me and I take to it. Also, I do want one that has no home and is older and calmer. I don't care about it being purebred or anything like that, a mutt will do, as long as it "feels" right:)
The main thing I am looking for is one that is small and cute and cuddly, that won't take up a lot of room, or cost a lot to feed and care for. I have never had a dog or a cat, but I was raised on a farm and I do love animals, but one's that are outside in the pasture or the pen. So having an inside pet would be completely new to me, but I think it would be great as long as it doesn't take up the whole apartment. haha

My daughter and I walked the 5K walk for breast cancer at the State Capitol this morning. I got off work at 6am, and the walk started at 8 am, but we parked 6 blocks away then forgot where we parked after the race and ended up walking for more than 2 hours and 15 minutes when my phone died and I couldn't track the miles after that. I thought, well we could just look at my cardiotracker on my phone, it shows on goodle maps exactly where we started from, where we walked and how far, but my phone completely died. so I couldn't even turn it on to see the map! We did finally find her pick up and we got home about 11 am, we were both exhausted! Feet hurt, back hurt, everything! But at least I can log in 120 minutes on the Cloverleafs team page. woohoo!

Great job on that 5k!!! Good for you! I am so happy to hear you are considering adopting a dog. They are such wonderful friends and companions, and I know what a loving home and good life you would provide for that lucky pet.

Great job of walking albeit lost ;-) Sound's like me!Wish I'd heard of it, I may have gone too. My little pound puppy has been with me 15 years, shes ok, but...oh gosh I worry about her. You'll get SO attached, which is a good thing, it's good to have a best friend there every day. Best wishes.

congratulations on doing the walk for cancer... and the extra miles you put in 'just because'.

Hey, I just thought - if you know someone with a small dog, that you could bring to your place and see how it goes for a week or so. There are so many things that you cannot do when you have a pet.
and things that you do HAVE to do.

    just thinking.

    Hugs
