Reality never ends

For me, being aware dealing with my hoarding and my health never ends is overwhelming.

However if I deal with this week, today, or even for right now, life and my surroundings are more manageable.

The other challenge is allowing interruptions be an excuse for me not to follow through - too easy for me to do with ADD unless I hyper-focus. Once I am interrupted, I rarely can get my rhythm back.

My better half, after 11 years, still does not understand this, continuing to stop my flow for the tiniest things. I know I should be able to get right back on task. Regaining focus and forward motion is a bear.

Let's try this one

(Notice the chain - that is when I am in control)

Back to my abyss. Some days the abyss wins - some days I win. Sometimes I make me crazy.

I don't have ADD, but I do use a flip notebook with a spiral wire either at the top of it or at the side of it. You could write in it what chore you hope to accomplish. I have a hard time finishing some things, and will jump to something else. I did my stove last week. I could have written:

Remove racks and drawer in the bottom of the stove.
Pull stove out away from wall and cabinets.
    Turn on self-clean cycle.
    Wipe out oven
Go over oven again with vinegar to take out the smell of self-cleaning.
Take stuff out of drawer and wipe out the drawer.
Wipe sides, front and top of stove.

Use a timer. Set it for 15 minutes and work on the chore at hand. I couldn't clean the sides, top or front of the stove until it had cooled from the self-cleaning cycle. I could do the drawer and wipe the racks.

If I had distractions, I can look at my tablet. I have a bigger control journal that I use too.
