"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you, too, can become great."

- Mark Twain, writer and satirist

This quote couldn't be more true. When I first started losing weight, I had a few people who just couldn't understand why I wanted to do it. They offered me temptations and tried to find ways to distract me from working out. It didn't take me long to realize that those aren't the kind of "friends" I want. One of them actually had gastric bypass a few years ago in an attempt to start getting healthier. She hasn't done much other than having the surgery to change her life. She kept telling me that being skinny was overrated. I even explained that I wasn't trying to lose weight to get skinny. I was doing it to better my health. I want to be able to play with my kids without running out of breath. I wanted to be able to walk up the stairs to my apartment without gasping for air. No matter what kind of people come in and out of my life, I know that my true friends are those who are going to encouragement to reach my goals no matter what their personal opinions are.

It's been a great week for fitness. I have found some serious motivation this week and love it. I've done cardio and strength training everyday this week except Sunday. I haven't done any yet today but plan to. And either way, I've still met those goals. My water intake has been a little lower than normal but I've still had at least 8 glasses everday.

emoticon - 5 days of cardio every week (at least 30 minutes each of those days)
emoticon - 4 days of strength training

The kids and I didn't get to go for our walk to the library today. And it wasn't because we didn't try - Daisha and I have been trying to convince Keiran all day. I offered to take them to the park too since it's around the corner. And it's not like he actually walks - he gets the luxury of riding in his stroller. But my kid was not budging. He wanted nothing to do with going anywhere. LOL Oh well, I'll just have to get some cardio done around here today.

That feeling of accomplishment is so nice. I know you can keep it up for the rest of the challenge!
