October is the best month

I haven't felt particularly motivated to blog lately, but I think it helps sort out thoughts sometimes. Last week at Fred Meyer I tried on a size 4 pair of jeans and they fit. WHAT!?! I have never worn a size 4 before. I went straight from childrens sizes to like an adult size 6 I think. So that is cool. Now if I only had the money to actually BUY said pair of jeans. $40...yeah right. I haven't spent that much on one article of clothing since I lived with my parents. To be honest, I don't even have the extra cash to go to Goodwill right now.

I've been spending a lot of time lately trying to come up with anything that will save money, and silently panicking because when my unemployment runs out we are totally screwed. I was depending on this raise my husband had coming, but when he got it it was only .50 cents per hour. You know, .50 per hour doesn't even cover the cost of living increase for the past year with it's ridiculous gas prices. I did apply for a job at 24 Hour Fitness. Nothing too fancy, just working at the front desk at night. So I guess I'll wait to hear about that.

I got some information I requested on schooling to be a Personal Trainer. When my husband asked what I was reading I told him about it and he actually stifled a laugh. Apparently 5 of the 8 guys working on his dock are certified personal trainers and none of them can get jobs. I hated my husband in that moment. Does it take that much extra energy to be supportive?

I know my blogs are a little bi-polar lately. Sorry about that.

On the upside, I discovered kickboxing last week and have really been enjoying that. I've been doing Chris Freytags 10 lb Slimdown Extreme Cardio Kickboxing video. SO MUCH FUN, and it burns a ton of calories. I burn 400 calories doing the 40 minute video. Not too shabby! I've also discovered that Luna Protein bars (cookie dough flavored) are DELISH. I had one for breakfast this morning and it felt like I was being naughty and eating a candy bar for breakfast.

Can I just point out to my fellow Oregonians that October is BEAUTIFUL? Even though it's rained a little every day this month, the trees are glorious and make up for it. I wish it could be October all year long. Also, I love Halloween. I'm a little obsessed with Halloween.

Tomorrow is my Mom's birthday and we are going to a local restaurant for pie. I can't decide if I'm going to be good and get a piece of sugar free apple, or is banana cream pie in my future? I'll let you know how I fare.

I know I've been promising a food blog, don't worry I haven't forgotten, I'm still compiling some pics of my best meals. Expect chicken fajitas and turkey meatloaf at least. Start salivating my friends!

Hey! It's ok. We all have these moments.

October is great. My husband's birthday is this month. I like Halloween too.

We are on a tight budget, too. It's tough.

Just because your hubby's friends are unemployed trainers doesn't mean you would be. You are a woman, and have a lot to share and motivate other women. I think if that's what you want to do I say go for it!

Sorry to hear he wasn't supportive! I know how it feels when you want that extra support. Another Sparker Fit-Wit is starting her own fitness business. She is going to school for it. I know it might be hard to find work now but you can think out of the box. There are a lot of different kinds of fitness businesses, including internet businesses.

Great job on all you are doing! Congrats on making it to size 4! WOO HOO! It's wonderful to read about your enthusiasm and trying new things. Looking forward to the food blog!

I stumbled across something similar to an online personal trainer on I recently bought one of their products and I was exploring their site. (They have two levels: basic which is free and somewhat similar to SP only not quite as good IMO, and a "member" status which lets you have full access for like 3 dollars a month). Anyway once you sign up on the basic level, you are automatically assigned a virtual personal trainer ... and the trainers are paid. I clicked on "for more information." I know you have to pay $40.00 down to get the supplies that teach you what you're doing, but beyond that it sounded like that was the only expense. As a trainer you're also supposed to help promote and sell beachbody products (which include P90, Insanity, hip hop abs, ChaLEAN, Turbo Jam, and lots more you've already heard of). It's not for me but it might be worth considering.

I'd go for the pie, if you like pie. I think treats are important, and having them out is even better since the quantity is limited.

For some folks, yes... sadly. Then again, if his co-dock workers aren't hot like you, then he's comparing apples to anchovies. I'd take training lessons from you, Hottie, in a heartbeat.
