I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.
- Thomas Jefferson, President and philosopher
I truly believe that this quote is true in life. Whether it's really luck, or just achievement due to working harder, sometimes it feels like luck. The biggest way this is true with my life right now is in regards to my photography. I got lucky with the first wedding shoot, being given a great opportunity at just the right time. And it seems that the more I put into my photography, the more opportunities that I'm presented with. I know that it probably has more to do with my work itself rather than luck, but I'll take it any way I can get it.
Today didn't start out quite the way I'd planned. I was up and ready to go walking with the girls this morning. Unfortunately, Keiran didn't have the same idea. I went to put him in a carseat in my friend's truck so we could go meet up with the other ladies - well, you'd have thought someone was trying to kill the kid. So I sucked it up and took him back inside. I was so irritated, not so much with Keiran as with myself for not waking him up sooner so he could have a chance to wake up fully before time to leave. Instead of sulking or getting more irritated, I just started working on the 500 jumping jacks for today's BLC TnT. I got those day, as well as a killer (for me anyway) upper body workout. I just finished 75 minutes of Walk Away the Pounds while watching my favorite Thursday night shows. And despite having planned on only doing about 45 minutes, I pushed myself to keep going.
We got our grocery shopping done tonight, and I finally got the rest of the stuff I need to make Keiran's Halloween costume. I'm hoping to work on it tomorrow... And we saw the most beautiful Harvest Moon on the way home tonight. I almost always have my camera with me. When the time was right, Tony pulled the car over so I could get some pictures. He's so supportive! The pics don't do the color any justice, but it will give you an idea...
Tony was laughing at me when I told him I'm going to start carrying my tripod in the car too so that I have a steady support for nighttime photos rather than using the car or holding the camera. LOL
I hope you're all making some fun and active plans for the weekend... I need to figure out what we're going to do. :)
