So much Sparkly LOOOOOOVE!

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Thank you all so much for the wonderful support and kind words and advice and sympathy. Not just sympathy, but real empathy, because I know you've all been there or been in a similar struggle of your own.

I planned to get back to each of you with personal thanks, but my plans have been put on hold for today because I wiped out on my bike last night.... Does flying down a hill and landing on your hands and knee count as strength training? Because my muscle are sure sore!

It was scary, but just like on Spark, people were lovely and helpful. Even though it was a dark, rainy night, cars pulled over and people got out to help me. Then as I was tottering towards home (walking my bike, just starting to dribble tears) a taxi driver insisted on putting my bike in the back of his van and driving me home! I felt like Blanche DuBois, relying on the kindness of strangers.

Even this morning, when I told my most truculent boss that I wouldn't be coming in for the morning, he was sympathetic and kind (very strange, but I'll take it!)

Now I'm off to the physiotherapist. Just wanted to say that all your comments lifted my mood so much. I've stayed on track, and yesterday morning I worked with the trainer at my new gym and got a strength training program! Yep!

I have a plan and a checklist and, most importantly, I have you guys on my side! Things are looking better. Even though I'm bruised and battered, I feel vastly more optimistic than when I weepily blogged on Monday night -- and it's only Wednesday morning. What a turnaround. Thank you, thank you, thank you. With all my heart, I thank you, kindest Sparkalicous friends!!!!

Sorry to hear that your wiped out. Never fun. But glad that people helped you. And glad all our support helped. Yay us!!

And yeah, after a bike accident you can hurt quite a bit. Take care of yourself. Unfortunately, you'll probably be more stiff and sore tomorrow. Ibroprofen or an anti-inflamatory will help. Take care of yourself.
