She Got the Job!

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

My Dear Daughter has been hired as a full time breastfeeding consultant for the health department's WIC program. Following background check and drug test that will be no problem, she starts Oct 29th. She plans to keep her license and keep working as a massage therapist one weekend day a week as well. Also, she and her husband have been approved for a 3.875% mortgage and expect to be moving to their new home in about a month. Dear SIL also works full time at an eye doctor's office and part time at the YMCA. I'm excited for my daughter and think things are coming together well for her.

So soon I will be doing extra long hours of child care. I know that establishing a new healthy routine will be important for me. I need to recognize this challenge and be up for it, but I am confident that I can do it. Taking really good care of my grandkids is important, but taking good care of me is important, too!

This is great news for your daughter -- and your family is one that clearly pulls together. I'm sure you can work out a schedule that still leaves you with time for yourself and your own fitness and nutrition needs: very very important!!

Congratulations to your daughter! You will get exercise just running after the kids. I came back so sore when I stayed with my son's family for 2 weeks when their 6th child was born!
Kicked me to the curb and that was 6 yrs ago!

    Hi Marsha
Congratulations on your daughters new job. That is so great. I think it is so awesome that they got a mortgage interest rate under 4%. It will save them a lot of money over the life of the mortgage.
I really believe that you will find a way that you can watch your granddaughters and maintain your healthy life style.
    Thank you for sharing

Awesome! Especially in this economy, anyone fortunate enough to land a new job needs to count his/her blessings (and in this case you are one of those blessings!)

Makes me think of when I had my 3rd child in 3 years. ('65-'67'-68') I went to the Dr. for a check-up and asked when I could start exercising. He laughed at me; said running after the 3 year old and lifting the other two should be exercise enough! It was when I was taking care of my first grandson and was sore just from lifting him in and out of the crib that I realized that I had to get "back in shape". Marsha, you're way ahead of the game; you're taking this on "in great shape". Yes, you will be time challenged but this time with your grandchildren is really priceless. They do grow up so fast! It seems even faster than our kids! Have fun!
