Time to Re-Focus on the basics of the Dukan Diet

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Well, after being within 0.1 pound of losing 35 pounds for weeks, the frustration has been rising. It didn't help that within this time period I was stung by a bee and had a very nasty reaction; got put on prednisone, antibiotics, etc. and still can't wear my wedding ring! (I got stung on my ring finger) So, along with all of that, and dealing with the news of my mother's newly diagnosed lymphoma, it's been rather stressful. So now that all of the excuses are on the table, I'll explain what my short comings were: I simply didn't follow the plan of having a PP/PV alternating day routine. I was somehow having PV/PV days and still wondering why I wasn't seeing any results on the scale! I broke out the book again and read it and realized that even adding little things (guilty) can cause poor results (or no results!).

Yesterday, I was back on track - all the way. You'll never believe what happened: Yep, finally hit that 35 pound weight loss mark that 's been taunting me for weeks! I guess there are rules for a reason! I could have done a cartwheel - but I'm sure that would have caused many other problems! (hehe). So, the little salad for lunch on a PP day is a no-no. Having veggies at every dinner meal is also a no-no on PP days. I'll be much more focused on PP/PV days and keeping them as they were intended.

I'm back on track!

I find my downward slide starts with PV/PV days. Then I start allowing more and more, then.... poof. I'm eating fried rice and cake.

I did really good today, so I'm hoping the momentum continues.

Yoo Hoo, well done on 35 lbs loss and getting back on track. I am sorry about to hear your mom, my mom had cancer when I was 20 years old, I really freaked out. It has not come back since.

As forgiving as this plan is, you do have to follow the rules for it to be successful.

Don't worry about it too much. At least you strayed with healthy things rather than dipping into the cookie jar. Just think of this as a little rest stop along your journey. :)
