It's 2 weeks til my first 10k. I think my husband's cousin will run with me, but I run a little slower than she does... by like a minute. But she admits that she runs too fast and then poops out so maybe it'll be a good thing for her to run with me.
I took this week off from work. I'm not sure why, exactly, but I did. Even though I'm "on vacation" I'm still trying to stick to a schedule. If I don't then next week will be really tough.
I ran 4.25 miles this morning. I really wanted it to be 4.5 but I just couldn't do it. I tried all the mental tricks I knew to make me go longer/further, but my brain and body just weren't having it. My left leg was hurting from mid thigh to mid calf, and I got a weird cramp in my right butt cheek. Ugh.
Rather than try to ice 6 places at once, I decided to sit in a bathtub full of cold water. It wasn't until after I was in the tub that I remembered I was supposed to add ice. Oh well, it was plenty cold for my first "ice" bath.
Wednesday's run will be better.
So today I'm trying to decide if I want to bake a cake, or buy something that looks healthy. It's my husband's birthday. I'm planning on making fish stew for dinner and he needs something to blow out candles on tonight. I'll have a better idea once I get to the grocery store, I think.
OK, that's about it. My ears haven't really hurt yet today. A little congestion/pressure up there, but no actual pain. That's good, right? I'll keep going with the sudafed and hope for the best.
