I got up as scheduled for my Monday short run. I did about 20 minutes of warmup drills inside and then stretches. I was hopeful that this would allow me a nice slow run this morning. But as soon as I began a running motion, the pain started again. So I walked the distance - paying special attention to my alignment and posture. So I got as much as I could out of the situation. Still did my post run stretches - paying special attention to the hip flexors. I took some Advil to help with the pain.
Right now, I feel pretty good. I plan to do my weekly spin class tomorrow and will attempt to run on Wednesday. I am scheduled for a 7 mile tempo run at a 9:33 pace. I'll do the best that I can with it, But safety is most important at this point.
I have fewer days left than I have under my belt at this point and that kind of freaks me out. I in no way feel ready for this race yet. I know I have a month and a half - and I'm making great progress. Maybe it's just because today was the first day that I noted the turn. It always seemed like I had a really long way to go.
