I Finally Got "Sparked"

Monday, October 10, 2011

Some folks around Spark have been super-duper motivating me lately, and I must give them their proper due:

-Libra73 & Ohanamama. They've made SP's For the Love of Horror (FTLOH) team a terrific place to be. These mistresses of horror even got me to revamp my SP page with their Halloween challenges. My page makeovers have only happened twice or 3 times since I joined Spark in 2008, LOL. So that's no small feat. :D These ladies deserve plenty of applause! And the team members of FTLOH also should bask in the kudos.

And SeasonsChange, I can't wait for you to return to SP and For the Love of Horror - thinking of you.

-The guys & gals on Sparky Marathoners who just finished running 26.2 this weekend; and those who have embarked on their first marathon journey.

Some of the Sparky Marathoners ran their first fulls this past weekend and reading about their accomplishments gives me goosebumps! They put in seemingly endless hours of hard training, not to mention coped with various aches, doubts, and setbacks along the way. I was so inspired this evening that I thought, "Maybe I should start hunting for marathon #3 and start training for it." Then I got back to reality, and decided that I'd rather continue laying low with regards to races (sorry, LOL).

The marathoners-in-training are so motivational, too. They've begun a journey that is, frankly, scary at times. And one that doesn't guarantee the support of family & friends. I know - not everyone approves the decisions we make. However, it especially stings when it comes from our loved ones. But there are some around SP who've trodden down that same path, and guide those who are starting and not feeling the love because of it. This is why the SP teams were created - to rally support!

So I can't believe I just wrote such a sappy, "Kum-ba-ya" blog, but there ya go. I just had to share my enthusiasm as of late. This will probably not ever happen again, either. But yeah... now I know what it means to be "sparked." emoticon

AWWW, I loved this blog! It is true that we do get a LOT of support from this website... from people we've never even met before. Believe it or not, I would NEVER have contemplated the marathon distance had it not been for Spark!
