I must say that I am so proud of myself right now. Last night I took my daughter to the WNBA finals game and I did not indulge in any of the arena foods. No hotdogs, nachos, hamburgers, pizza,.... nada! I did buy my daughter a bag of cotton candy and allowed myself a tiny pinch, and yes, I tracked it! LOL! You see, I was a smart cookie yesterday. We arrived to the complex early and had dinner on the food court of the CNN Center. There, they have a mall style food court in which you can make some sensible choices. We had Chic-Fil-A and I did good. After all, eating there instead of inside Philips Arena was much lighter on my waist and purse.

My mother, sister, and nephew also came into town for a visit for the weekend. We decided to head downtown Atlanta to the Sweet Auburn Festival. As with all fall festivals, it was filled with live music, food, folks, fun, and did I mention food? I love when fall festivals start, because it usually gives me an excuse to eat polish sausages, cotton candy, candy apples, funnel cakes, and most anything fried. Well today's festival was a little bit different for me. You see, I really am in a different place this year than I was last year, so I had the will to resist. It wasn't really even that hard. I allowed myself one indulgence and that was a polish sausage and soda. Although it was loaded with fat, that was okay, because fat is where I usually struggle to meet my daily requirements. It was also loaded with protein. The soda was loaded with carbs, so in a sick way, it balanced the sausage. Since I had a sensible breakfast, lunch at the festival did not leave me in trouble for the rest of the day. I was still able to get a sensible snack (fruit)and dinner in to meet the rest of my daily requirement without exceeding them. I am really getting good at this and my 3.3lb weight loss this week makes it all worth it.
