wii fit is a good motivator

Tuesday, October 04, 2011

wii fit lets me keep track of weight and keeps a long term record. It lets me set goals. It reminds me I am obese, not just overweight. That's a medical term with insurance implications. I discovered insurance companies won't insure obese folks, unless you get the insurance through work. That was a wake up call. According to Dr. Oz, being obese is a more dangerous health risk than smoking! Wii fit makes moving fun. I can get moving and time flies by, I'm surprised at how fast I get my fitness minutes in, I find myself peeling off layers and really getting a workout. I like that it has lots of levels and lots of choices. Again I am starting as a beginner, that's okay, I know my skills will grow. Got 1o minutes of stretching and 30 minutes in on the wii today, that's 40 minutes today and 40 minutes yesterday! I like getting coins and awards on the wii, just like on spark. Now to start dealing with my portion size, always a challenge for me. emoticon

You're killing me! Now I have no excuse. emoticon
I've been out of the exercise arena for awhile. I just can't make myself want to do it. Today it was cold and rainy aaallll day. I was sitting here feeling bad for literally sitting around and doing nothing all day. I tried to blow it off by thinking there was nothing I could have done today... I forgot about our wii. I don't have wii fit, but I do have some of the other wii Active programs, etc. I could have also gone to Blockbuster and rented The Biggest Loser game. emoticon
This is actually a great reminder. Thank you. It's going to be cold and rainy (I think) again tomorrow. Now I know what I can do.

Yay Wii! Just wait until it drops to overweight instead of obese. It's such a great feeling!
