so frustrating!!!

Why is my knee sabotaging my weight loss efforts? That's the question I'm asking right now. If you look back in my blog, I injured my knee about a year and a half ago (one of the ligaments, according to my doctor). I took a few months off of exercise to rest & heal it. But I've re-injured it a few times since then (most recently by doing too much too soon with too much incline on the treadmill).

I've recently begun Power90 with my hubby and a few friends, and I took off 2lbs, 2cm off my waist, and 2cm off my hips, in 1 week. I was just giddy. But for the second day in a row, my knee is sore to the point where I don't want to exercise and risk re-injury. I'm so frustrated. Power90 was working, I was so excited to see some movement on the scale and on the measuring tape. And now my stupid knee doesn't want to play anymore.

I'm determined to exercise tonight anyway, even if I'm just sitting on the couch doing single-leg lifts and lots of strength training for my arms. In the past I've let my sore knee derail my exercise efforts altogether because I was so worried I'd injure it further, but that won't happen this time. I've got some ideas on things to try. And I have some exercise buddies that won't let me fall. And I've got support from some great sparkbuddies & sparkteams - thanks gang!

Perhaps 1 day on and 1 day off was still a little too ambitious to start out on Power90 for my knee? I'll see how I feel tomorrow, maybe do 1 day on and 2 or 3 off with some sort of cross-training in between. I have a stationary bike that might be just what I need.

I'm frustrated, but I'm not going to lose hope this time. And I'm not going to get derailed. Just...slowed down a little.
