Attacked by a cat... sort of

I went for my run this morning. It was hard towards mile 2.3 so I ended up walking more than I wanted to. Oh well. I completed 3.5 miles like I planned. Wednesday's run will be better.
I wore my new neon running clothes. I didn't feel any more visible, mostly because 5:45am is freaking dark! But as the sun rose it became brighter and the world could see my hot pinkness.
Today's run was accompanied by a cat and a small child. As I was running under a tree I heard a rustle, then something furry sprung off my shoulder and darted under a car. It smelled like a cat. It moved like a cat. It didn't make any noise, but I'm calling it a cat. Poor thing must've been startled and "attacked".
Later on in the run there was a family getting ready to leave for the day. Dad was getting into his Pepsi truck. Mom was walking towards the SUV and the little girl was staring at me as I walked towards them gasping for air. Mom urged the little girl to get into the SUV. The girl started walking towards me so I said "Good Morning." The girl ran towards mom and hid. Mom, dad and I laughed. Apparently a gasping, sweaty, red faced woman wearing neon pink at dark-thirty is a scary thing. I know I'd be frightened!
So, Wednesday's run will be better. There will be less walking, and there may be some hills. And maybe my husband will get up and at least walk instead of sleeping in till I get home.
