Wk 10 Space Coast training and my busy week

Week 10 seemed to be a crazy week for me.
I had the goal of increasing my two mid week maintenance runs to 6 miles each and had a long run of 16 miles.
My week ended up like this...

Monday I got home from a crazy day at work and had my first Mary Kay facial. It was fun!
Tuesday proved to be another insane day at work resulting in getting home late and not being able to run my 6 miler.
Wednesday I tried to get up early and run to make up for Tuesday but I was exhausted! I had another beyond full day at work and headed home where I had facial number two to do. It was great!!
Thursday I had planned to leave work early and meet up with the beach side running group for my 6 miles and bridge repeats but my youngest son had what we thought was a spider bite on his leg that was very swollen, turning colors and needed immediate attention. We took him to the ER and they said it was actually a bug bite that got a staph infection. WTH! He is on meds and it is getting better. I didn't get to run.
Friday I took off of work because I had a baby shower cake to do that serves 50 people! It's my biggest cake yet! I got up and got my 6 miles in at an easy pace and felt great! I was able to make my goal for the month of 80 miles!! YAY!
From there I had to go into the office (on my day off) fax out some proposals and agreements, grab my lap top and head back home where I had more proposals to email out and needless to say I didn't start the cake until after 6 that night! GRRRRR!

Saturday I got up at 4:30 got dressed and headed out for my 16 miler. For the first 8 miles my legs felt heavy. I am assuming it's from running the 6 the day before. I made it down to the beach and it was beautiful watching the sun come up from beneath the waves.

It was a beautiful morning! The weather was actually nice for FL with a light breeze! I loved it!
I ran my 16 miles with an average pace of 12:34 and I was happy with that!

Wok has been just crazy lately! I am training a new sales rep for North Florida so I am working with him and covering his area which is fine if I wasn't also training a rep in St. Lucie/Ft. Pierce area and covering her area as well as working conversion and covering my own area. The girl in South Fl is actually going on vacation for the next month so I will have her whole area until November 1st which is also when I expect my guy in N. Fl to go live as well. Whew!! I am swamped and thats putting it lightly!! I also started Mary Kay this past month and am working my business there as well. I have a goal of becoming a Director! I would love to do facials and make women beautiful full time!! I am over banking which is nothing new, and Nursing school isn't an option for me right now. I would never see my family with the hours I work and the hours of school. Plus as demanding as my job is now I couldn't dip out early to make the classes. God has a plan and I am following it, what ever that may be.

My week 11 training will hopefully be more on track! I know I have a lot going on in my life but I am serious about my training! I will make it happen!! My short runs will be up to the 6 miles each and I will get my hill training in, Florida style! LOL! My long run this week is 18 miles. And I just looked at my plan and I am realizing I was supposed to run 17 yesterday, not 16. DANG! Oh well. lol
My mileage goal for September is 100 miles! OH! And I am down another pound! yay! That puts me at 156, a far cry from my goal of 130 but every pound counts!!

That's all I have for now!
OH! Here are a few pictures of the baby shower cake. It's not your traditional baby shower cake though. They are Irish and wanted a shamrock cake!! How cute!!



This cake is huge!!

    I love the cake! You are really talented!

    Way to go getting your runs in despite a hectic schedule. I know all about that - and it CAN be done! Your dedication will definitely pay off later!

    Also, your Q about hill repeats... I think 11 days is plenty... when I first started doing them, the first day was really hard, but by the next time I tackled them, I could already see an improvement.
