OOO Day 1 Recap and Goals for Day 2

Sunday, October 02, 2011

So, the first day of my Operation Overhaul went...OK. My day was fine up until around 2 PM when I found out my mother in-law was making fudge. I did have one small piece of fudge, probably around 1 ounce. And that's all I'm having. It is WAY too sweet for me.

Then around 4 or 5 in the afternoon...guess what's for dinner? Fast food! Here's where the day went completely wonko. My husband and I thought everyone (hubby, me, mother in-law, father in-law, and 20 year old nephew) all agreed on fish and chips. When mother in-law gets back with the food, turns out my husband and I are the ones with the fish, my in-laws aren't eating, and our nephew got Wendy's. What?!?! If we had any idea she'd be going to multiple places, we wouldn't have gotten fish. Plus, the "chips" for our "fish and chips" were actually fries from McDonalds. Again, if I had any clue, I would've gotten my normal salad and parfait from McDonalds.

Instead I eat the fish (which was good, but greasy) and I eat the stupid LARGE fry from McDonalds. Great. Had a stomach ache the rest of the night and felt blah. Went over my calories for the day and was not please with the whole situation. This family needs to learn communication skills.

Recap of yesterday's goals:

Stay within calorie range (1200 - 1550) - NO
Stretch for 10 to 15 minutes - emoticon
Send some Spark goodies to people - emoticon
Post on Spark boards (chat threads) - emoticon
Elliptical for 1/2 mile - emoticon
Moisturize arms, legs and face after shower - emoticon
Leave comments on people's blogs or pages - emoticon
No snacking after dinner - emoticon (kind of) Had a piece of fudge in the afternoon.

Today's a new day though. Starting over and will do better with my food goals.

Terri - This looks like a goal-met kind of day! I agree with you; better communication about the menu when things are up in the air is a good thing! Perhaps share your OOO!! with the household, including your food goals. That way, your MIL may be more apt to ask specifically what you want - less guessing and choosing things you wouldn't have chosen for yourself!

We have a similar plan! I have a moisturizing component to my Fall Semester Investor challenge, too. Still having a tough time applying moisturizer AFTER the shower so I've brought a moisturizing body wash INTO the shower!! hehehe... I'll need both once it's truly wood-stove season, but working on it!

That's all we need to do - Just Keep Working On it!!

I agree that overall your day looks great. And remember, just going over your calories one day isn't really going to affect your overall outcome----BUT, I could imagine your frustration with your mother-in-law!!

Glad everything else went as planned!!

Sounds like you had a great day overall. You got so much accomplished. If you had the fudge before you ate dinner I'd still count that as a goal met. After all you didn't say no snacking at all.

Good luck with your goals today.

I had similar problems last week when traveling with friends. They would insist on a restaurant telling me it had something I could eat only to find that the veggies were all starches and the meats were fried or hamburgers. Sometimes people don't seem to be able to process information. BTW I totally understand going ahead and eating the food. Once you are that hungry and there is no other choice, moderation can fly out the window. Hang in there. Most of the day went well and that's a plus.
