Hooping and cramps

Gave hooping a try for ten minutesthis morning - still no succes although I started to suspect that it is me "humping" instead of shirfting the weight from eet to feet that makes me unsuccessful. Although tried hooping from the chest, felt as if that might be a successful way to get there...

After that I was well warmed up - got out on the bike with the dog - the morning was foggy and wet but with a nice temperature. My little dog is a croosbread of chinese crested and whippet - he can run! I almost get a little scared that this will hurt him but my veterinary friend said that as long as he seems alert and happy I should not worry.

We biked for fifty minutes - and fast! On the big road Merling is on a leash but on the gravel road he can run free - and he does! And as he suddenly raced when he saw a crow I suppose he is fine. Coming back I put some ointment with resin on his paws, they will be worn if we keep this up...

Now I will drive to my sister, annhours drive from here - it will be a perfect situation to have Merlin in his cage I want him to relax in it and after this exercise he will probably appreciate some rest...

My problem is that I am getting severe cramps in my legs when biking hard. I have had this problem at nights, I wake up and my legs are all twisted and hurting, really painful before it relaxes again. I also have gotten this when I am swimming and start to get tired - and now it really stabs me when I stop to put the leash on the dog and try to get going again. I have started to take D-vitamins and magnesium supplements - but I think I might be dehydrated, have to be more careful to drink a lot of water, go easy on the coffee and have salty stuff to eat too.

    I think you might be right about needing to drink more water, that really could be causing the leg cramps. Sounds like you and Merlin are getting a lot of exercise!

    Dehydration really messes me up, makes me dizzy. I get leg cramps if I'm not drinking enough milk. It's amazing how what we drink (or don't drink) can affect us.
    Hooping-Are you trying to make a big circle with your hips? Sometimes that throws people off. Try rocking your hips front and back or side to side. Put one foot in front of the other if you go front to back and spread your feet out if you go side to side. One of those stances will probably feel more comfortable than the other, at first. It's all about shifting your weight and gaining momentum.
    Just keep trying-- as my daughter says, "It's not if you drop the hoop, it's if you pick it back up."
