Personal Experiences and Day Four

Friday, September 30, 2011

So after watching Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead (a recommend read by SparkPeople it's self). I decided to give juicing a try for various reasons.

1. I have a liver condition and I'd been eating junk and creating a build up of toxins in my body.

2. I wanted to get rid of my sugar cravings and retrain my taste buds to love simple sugars like fruits again.

3. Jump start my weight loss.

4. Shrink my stomach

Day 1:

Stepped on the scale to get a starting point of weight and considered how I felt that day. Which was pretty much normal.

By the end of the day the hunger wasn't anything I couldn't manage. I was slightly tired, but nothing that a long day didn't normally do to me.

Day 2:

Stepped on the scale and low and behold:

I'm down 5 pounds. I figure this is water and waste, a lot going out. Not a lot going in. During the day I felt fine. But that night I crashed pretty hard when I got home. I went to bed a couple hours earlier than normal.

Day 3:

Scale tells me I'm down 4 more pounds

Morning I felt pretty good, full of energy. By the middle of the day I'd hit that cross roads place. The place that determined if I was going to quite or keep going. With a lot of support from very good friends I made it through without mishap and went home to watch my boyfriend tuck away 4 slices of pizza. :(

I'm starting to realize how much food we eat without needing to eat it! It makes me scared about what I was doing in the past to my body as well.

Day 4:

And this catches me up with today.

This brings my four day total down to 11.8 pounds lost. Felt pretty normal when I woke up this morning. And here at 10:30 after having two juices and plenty of water and herbal teas. I'm feeling pretty mellow. I'm not over the top hungry or uncomfortable in any way. I do have a slight headache but I attribute this to my body getting rid of the stored toxins that my liver was unable to deal with while I was abusing it.

This in no way is an endorsement but I thought maybe my own personal experiences would help others who were considering it to either chose to do this or not to do this. I'll answer any questions I can if you want :D

Have a great day!
