What a week! If we could only bottle the adrenalin formed when under deadline stress, we all could make our goal weight in a month! I have been going non-stop, fast forward this week and viola! 2 pounds down.
Let's see - my son's essays for his US Naval Academy Congressional Nominations applications were pathetic and the deadlines were looming...."you have to re-write from scratch and it has to be done by 7am tomorrow!" So he writes 2 breathtaking essays, thank goodness. Apps completed, i's dotted, t's crossed, mailed/certified.....crazy. All this on top of preparing for his Eagle Board of Review.
Oh then let's add in some unexpected stress: Daughter's National Honor Society application was due wednesday at 3pm. Problem was that the application process was all on line - emails to sponsors, forms for them to fill out and the system had major technical problems. She/we had to email and re-email and try to explain to these sponsors that their forms did not process on the site for a technical reason, could you retry - some never even received the request - the program was not compatible with MAC's, so we had to ask them to find a PC to complete the process....it was embarrassing and very frustrating for her. People are so gracious - they complied and got it done for her - by 3pm wed! wow.
So here it was Thurs night and my son's required interview with the Blue&Gold officer for the Academy application was scheduled for 7:30pm. Well he arrived at 8:15 and didn't leave until 11:00pm! whoa and my son still had to write an essay and study for a physics test....poor boy was sleep walking this morning.
So what's next? SAT's tomorrow for him ...
.....and on the seventh day he rested......
Looking forward to a nice weekend.
