Snow White Designer Doll

Sunday, September 25, 2011

I am a die hard Snow White Fan. Last week, the Disney Store came released the Snow White Designer Doll at 12:30am. Of course, I was online to try and get myself one of the very limited release (only 6000 made) Snow White Collectible Doll. The website kept crashing every time I was checking out, which made me very upset. At 12:56am, my order finally went through, credit card was accepted, and I had a confirmation number. So i was excited to have secured my doll; however, thats what I thought. The next morning, i got an email from the Disney store, stating that my order was cancelled since they sold out before my order went through, so my Snow White was gone! :(

I then decided to go onto Ebay to see how much Snow White was going for. The cheapest price I saw was $300 (the original price was $75 with tax and shipping), so my husband wouldn't let me get one. Sad again!

Well yesterday, I decided to check out Ebay again to test my luck. When I signed on to Ebay, there was 40 minutes left in one of the auctions, where Snow White was going for $150. After a week of moping around the house, my husband finally let me place a bid. After 40 minutes, I got my Snow White for $175 with shipping. Even though the price was $100 more than the one I had earlier, I'm still stoked to have my Snow White to add to my collection.

I totally understand about collecting. I used to sell antiques, and I got caught up with so many neat things that I amassed personal collections of all kinds of things. One of my biggest collections was Snow White I've been selling pieces bit by bit as I get around to it. Boy, it's hard to let go!

    Congratulations on getting your doll!

I'm glad for you that you got your Snow White and I don't blame you a bit for paying that high a price since it's something you collect and really wanted. I do, however, have a problem with folks on ebay who buy up "limited editions" or tickets to events, such as seeing the space shuttles launch (back in the day).. when they have no desire to use them, but want only to make a killer profit, when those who really wanted the item/event ticket have to pay an exhorbitant amount to these folks. It's a pet peeve of mine, I guess.

But, I do congratulate you and am happy for you that you got your collectible! :)
