getting ready!

Saturday, September 24, 2011

This is the first post broken leg 5k run today! I am excited. I've completed the entire couch to 5k program by podrunner. I actually quit goofing around this time and did the weeks in order and did the three runs a week with rest days from running in between. Amazing how a program really works when you FOLLOW it!
I also decided that since i really was not going to run on the off days I had to "pick" other activities. I found the shapely girl DVDs and will start those soon. I dug out Richard Simmons that I didn't even know I had. Opened the new package and found inspiration. There are fat people like me exercising and loving it. Talk about being inspired. And yes, I am a goober because I love his enthusiasm, energy, and all that old music.
I had never been on an elliptical, now I'm up and moving. Went back to the YMCA. Started talking to people at Planet Fitness. Stepped outside of my little box and decided to live a little.
Please send your positive thoughts, prayers, or post me something here. My leg is hurting with all of this rain we've had but I know that I can do this. I have prepared and am mentally and physically up to the challenge.
Bless you my Spark Friends- you may never know how important you are to me but your inspiration and this wonderful community have helped me get back on my feet and moving!

I love Richard Simmons, too! I met him once - he is exactly the same way in person.

Have a great race today. Don't worry about your time - do your best and take good care of that leg.
