Still struggling

Thursday, September 22, 2011

It has been a week since this cold/flu/whatever came to live at our house. Both DH and I have been fighting it. He finally went to the clinic today and found out that his has settled into his lungs with mild bronchitis - He is on antibiotics. I went to the clinic on Tuesday and he confirmed that mine is attacking me in the sinuses, throat, ears and lungs - I am on a different antibiotic due to my allergies to medications. I also received a Kenalog shot for allergies since the PA felt that this was exasperating my symptoms.

I still am utterly miserable with a horrifically raw and sore throat, fluid on the ears causing massive pain, sinus pressure and drainage, and a not so lovely cough. When DH went in today the PA commented that I don't seem to be doing any better and maybe what I have is viral which would account for the fact that the antibiotics aren't helping.

Needless to say, DH stayed home sick on Monday then again today and the PA gave him a note to stay home tomorrow. He is driving me crazy :( There is nothing worse than a cranky sick husband when you are miserably sick yourself...

Sending prayers your way! It is too early in the season to already have this stuff floating around. Hopefully we'll get it out of the way soon and be on to brighter skies!

I hope you get better soon. We have had a lot of crud going around her also. In fact the school is starting strep testing next week. We didn't start strep testing until Jan last year, but we go on the number of confirmed cases in the community. So the clinic called this week and said that we have had a boat load and start testing. I've had a number of students gone and many that should have been. I hope that you get some rest and relief soon. emoticon emoticon
