The Agony of De-Feet!

I may not have the world's ugliest feet, but I'm pretty sure I'm in the Top 10! I was born with a bent and crooked right foot, which caused a very high arch, and some tight muscles. I have some childhood memories of having a cast on that foot (probably just remembering from photos, because I was just a baby), and of seeing a specialist when I was about 4 and having to do some exercises to work the muscles. The exercise I remember is picking up marbles with my toes and putting them into a coffee can. I got good at it, and loved it when my brothers would be playing marbles on the living room floor and I'd walk through the room and "steal" their marbles with my toes! I also remember that I could never wear those cute "little girl" shoes, but had to wear shoes that supported my feet - like oxfords and saddle shoes. I can't remember ever having a pair of shoes that were comfortable. Through the years, I've developed some nasty callouses on the balls of my feet and knobs on my toes. Recently I've been having a strange burning type pain on the inside arch of my right foot, and sometimes on top of the foot. It doesn't hurt when I walk or run, but mostly it wakes me up in the early morning of the hours. Although it's more a nagging type thing than terribly painful, I've made an appointment to see a podiatrist to have it checked out. My appointment is at noon tomorrow. I do think a podiatrist could make a career out of my feet, but for now I'll just hope for some answers and relief. I do love my walking and jogging and am hoping he's not going to tell me to stop!
