Confessions of a wing-oholic

Hi, my name is LaDon and I'm a wing-oholic. This would be my introduction in my wing-oholic's anonymous meetings if they existed. But since they don't, I will share my confessions with you all.

Chicken wings are my weakness. I have been craving buffalo wings all week. I went to a local spot a few days prior to try to get my fix but they weren't very good so my craving wasn't satisfied. So when I realized I had all the fixings to make my own here in the house I went crazy. I made them as spicy and messy as I could stand them. Five wings and countless napkins later I had eaters remorse. Not because I physically felt ill or anything like that, but I was mulling over the possible calorie consumption in my head. Yikes. I refused to even enter it into the tracker (going to do it today though).

This is the part that has me scratching...I eat them around 3 or 4 pm and I wasn't hungry again until about 8am this morning. Is it because I had a lot more protein or a lot more calories? Usually if I eat a snack around 3pm I am ravenous by 6pm. Maybe I need to consider upping my protein consumption and lower the carbs since they are processed some much faster. Dunno. Anyway, time to face my food shame and go walk my butt off, literally emoticon

    At first, looking at your blog title, I thought you are aholic on the body wing, obsessed with trying to get the leaner look, hehe.

    I think the alternatives given by the previous commenters are worth to try. It's very hard to give up things you love - me, a self-declared chocaholic! - so first thing you want to do, try to get healthier version and instead of cutting it off from your life, how about limit it to fewer pieces, fewer times in a week and try to keep the number of how much and how many time you eat decreasing instead of increasing.

    What I did - and I think it's quite successful! - is I try to limit 3 pieces of small sizes chocolate a day, always the three-piece rule. So, it's best for me to get chocolate with small wrapping instead of big bar.

    maybe try baking them next time, but really there's not that many calories in buffalo wings. I was surprised. I myself love wings so I looked it up on my calorie counter and its only 288 calories for 4 peices. That's not too bad at all. I think it may have been the protein that helped you feel full, but no way to know for sure :)

    So guilty. Totally fried them. I did not bread them before frying them (like this helps). I never really thought about grilling them or making my own sauce. emoticon

    there are worse things to be a ohilic of.

    as long as you are not frying them it will help keep the calorie count down. some grill them and make their own sources which are healthier than the bottled ones. good luck to you
