Met Dr. Oz on Friday

I was already in the mindset to start cleaning up my health regimen but after meeting Dr. Mehmet Oz on Friday I am more determined. He was in town promoting the move of his show from another station and as an advertiser for the new station, our department had a chance to have lunch with him. My boss was actually the first to get to meet him and she being a fitness buff really impressed him. He then came over to my friend and me and asked to take a photo. He met with many others that were there and then his handlers asked if he could sit at our table to eat his lunch and of course we said yes. I was trying to respect his time and allow him to eat and steer the conversation the way he wanted but another co-worker wanted to engage him in conversation so he did talk to us a little bit. Another friend had just came back to the table with a very decadent dessert which she told him there was no way she could eat it with him sitting right next to her. He thought that was funny.
I am a fan of his even though I don't get to watch his show very often. I am signed up with several of the websites he is affliated with and do catch the show when I can. I found him to be very genuine, personable and caring. He took the time with everyone and didn't rush people at all. He spoke about how he felt helpless in getting to patients when they needed surgery and had already had damage to their bodies and wanted to reach them before and maybe prevent diseases and illnesses. Overall he was very inspiring and just made me more determine to clean up my life.
My boyfriend is into natural remedies and I think I will explore that as well. One thing he introduced me to was tart cherry concentrated juice which helps the joints, arteries as well as insomia. When searching online for it, I came across a clip from Dr. Oz's show that was recommending tart cherry juice as well. As someone in the medical field I am not opposed to prescription drugs as well as natural remedies so I think I will explore some options in that field as well. The tart cherry juice has made a difference and I can tell the difference on the days I don't take it and it's not just because I expected it to success.
I promised myself I would be healthier by my 40th birthday next year and I want to get back on that track. As I slowly recover from my injury, I will have time to reflect and get my life on track. We were given a copy of Dr. Oz's book, You Being Beautiful. It looks pretty interesting. I am vowing to spend 15 minutes a day reading it and won't let my homework and other duties interfere with that. Gotta keep my health on the front burner not in the basement, in the dark corner on the burner that never gets turn on or even polished! Gotta be a healthier me!
