Long bike ride cut short

Thursday, September 15, 2011

So I was going to go on an awesome bike ride today. I was hoping for around 20 miles or so. I wanted to burn some major calories because I wont have a long cardio Saturday.

Here is a low detail version of what happened.
Well I got to the trail and found a parking spot. Was getting ready to unhook the bike when I noticed the car two spots over was missing a small back window...there was glass on the ground.... Well so I end up calling the police. It was going to take an hour for them to get there. After some info passing they said they would call my cell to get the report in about an hour. So I started my ride, but my cell phone didn't have much charge left, and I wanted to see if the owners needed help maybe talk to the cops if they came by. Slightly illogically worried about my car and the 4 dvd I just got from the library, and my wallet and my windows (they are $$ to replace).

So I cut my ride to an hour- it was beautiful but short. I got to talk to the owners-they were okay and could leave- were just missing some stuff and unhappy. Talked to the police on the phone and could not really provide any additional info being that I knew nothing.

Kinda got lost on the way home and had to call DH for directions (okay that was really freaken sad).

blar.

Might take the bike with me tomorrow and try again. Two short rides = one long ride, right. Have to see how I feel about it after my AM workout.

Congrats to you for still getting in your Bike ride. It is so easy to get side tracked from what's important by the things that are urgent like that police business.
I can't wait till I build up the stamina and strength to do activities like I used to. emoticon

I'm glad you got a bike ride in.

Glad it wasn't your car that was broken into.

    Have a great day anyway.

As others have said...you got some time in. And...I bestow upon you the Good Samaritan Award of the Day!

It does kinda suck knowing that the world we live in makes us have to lock our stuff up (and even then they are not always safe).

Now I am wondering 2 things though...

    1) Was this a very new area for you? Cause you got lost I mean.

    2) What DVDs?

Yes...I am nosey. Heh. You need to post a bike picture!

Ever notice how life always seems to try to prevent us from getting our workouts in. It never fails. At least you did get some riding time in. I'm glad your car was safe and the other people only lost a window. It is annoying when you find your stuff damaged and gone though. Rest well and try again tomorrow! I'm sending you a four-leafed clover for good luck!

Good on you for getting something in. Being worried about a potential theft can be distracting, so at least you stuck with it
