Day 258: The Eyes Have (Had) It

Thursday, September 15, 2011

It being Thursday it was grocery day, then this afternoon the annual eye exam. Is it just me, or are the eyedrops for dilating pupils different from what they used to be?

I think they're downright painful, and I don't remember them being bothersome at all. I don't know if the formulation has changed or if it's something to do with age, blood pressure... Who knows.

At any rate, even hours later they are still dilated, making bright lights a major nuisance, and my eyes just feel (for lack of a better word) tired.

I'd say 'More tomorrow,' but tomorrow's blog may be short too: morning is a blood test, later is the knee x-ray, and in the afternoon another meeting with a paving contractor. Be still, my heart.

And with that, I'm outta here. Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!

    Hi Kasey,

The last time I had my eyes dilated, the silly doctor did not tell me he was going to do it and I could not drive home and was stuck in town for several hours, not being even able to enjoy some window shopping as I could not see properly.

That was about 10 years ago and I have not had to go through that again thank goodness

    Love to you too peepers

I'm due for an eye exam and also for grocery shopping. We've just been putting bandaids on the groceries and when hubby goes, I can't count on him to buy anything like veggies or fruit that I would eat. So I guess I will have to break down and go. Won't be until Sunday though as Friday is busy and dinner out and then the FSU/OKlahoma game on Saturday. And we are skipping church because we will be late getting home. So maybe it's commissary day at the local AF base. We always go there when we need a lot.

I avoid them dilating my eyes most of the time---I have always felt like they burn.

Hey, I don't let them dilate mine either--altho the eye guy acted funny with me after I said --""No drops""---It makes it hard to see after eh??--- Glad you called it a day and let them rest----I went to my ""funny"" meeting to-night--a weight loss meeting , where nobody loses weight---dunno why I put myself thru that--I wanted to use their scales tho as an added incentive---Good nite Girl--across the pond---Lynda---where we might get frost to-nite- emoticon

Praying you had a good sleep and that your eyes are back to normal again in the morning....

I had my eyes tested earlier this year and I certainly don't remember particular probs with the drops.....

I don't let them dilate mine anymore. They did my husband several years ago and he passed out at eye place and we had to call an ambulance. Something in drops caused it.
