Week 7-space coast marathon training

I am so far behind in blogging considering I am almost done with week 8! LOL!
Last week was my 7th week of my training plan. I had scheduled a 5 miler on both Tuesday and Thursday and a long run of 14 on Saturday.
I missed my Tuesday 5 miler because I was so tired! I had no energy and at that point I had a headache that was going on it's second week. I was mentally and physically drained not to mention could hardly see straight some days. My house was in disarray, kids homework didn't get checked, laundry stacked up, oh the joys! LOL!
I was able to get my Thursday 5 miler in even though my headache was still just as painful. I met Kris on the beachside where we normally meet but the tide was way too high to run on the beach. We decided to run the back roads and board walk instead. We were both exhausted but it seemed to make my headache go away which I thought was odd!.
The 5 miles was slow but done. Average pace was 13mm
Saturday rolled around and I got up at 4:45am for my 14 miler. I hadn't gone shopping so I was out of any pre run foods so I didn't eat and I was a bit dehydrated from the day prior. I set out from my house and up Riverside Dr. It's a not a well lit road which freaks me out. I see my shadow chasing me and critters rustling in the shrubs and my heart and mind race like crazy waiting for somebody to jump out of the bushes to get me. However, when the sun starts to rise it offers the most beautiful view. I ran up to the beachside over the N. Causeway watching the dolphins playing in the river below. I bottom the bridge then set my course back. I was doing great and holding a pace of 11:45mm until mile 8 when I started running out of fuel. I took a gel but was starving and had already gone through 16oz of water. I refilled my bottle at a park and kept moving. By this time my pace dropped to 12:09 and stayed that way until I was a half a mile from home. I saw my hubby and youngest son pulling into dunkin donuts and all I could think about was a nice, cold, iced coffee. I stopped to put in my order, lol, and bonked my time. I finished my 14 miler with an average pace of 12:33. All in all I was happy with this training run. I have a few goals but my ultimate for the marathon is 5hrs and would need to maintain a 11:30 pace. I think if I maintain these paces with my training and add in cooler temps its obtainable.
This week I have my Tuesday 5 miler in which I ended up running 3 instead. I was so tired and my legs were really tight plus the beach sand was thicker than I like so I decided to make it a recovery run. The average pace was 12:45
I am scheduled for 5 miles tonight, which I will get done and 15 on Saturday which I may make 18 so I can run with a group instead of solo.
Training is going well, so far so good!
