Motivational Quote of the day...

The more man meditates upon good thoughts, the better will be his world and the world at large.

-I just put some books on meditation on hold at the library. I have a lot of stress in my life (a lot of it is simply self-inflicted) and think some meditating may be just the ticket. Exercise is great for stress, but I need something to help me sweep out my brain once in a while. Anyone out there practice meditation?

-I took Peanut to the vet and the vet thinks he has a heart murmur (grade 4 or 5). Argh! That's what has been making him cough. They took an x-ray but the processor wasn't working so she gave me some meds and he goes back in two weeks for a follow-up. I am back to my "no more pets" mode.

-My husband and I went to a "Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace -Military Edition-" seminar the chapel on base sponsored. Pretty interesting....he's a funny guy! It was sad that more of the younger crowd didn't attend. I sure wish I would've when I was younger! We go each Tuesday for another 12 weeks. ((he does a lot of goal setting, etc. just like spark))

Have a good Wednesday!

Hey, have you tried doing yoga? That's really helpful for stress. And to MaryAnn...what a great idea with the Halls. I'm going to remember that in case I ever need it.

Good luck on the classes you are doing. That's quite a commitment (12 weeks).

    Take care

Sounds like you've been busy seeing to it that your head is screwed on. (Screwed on properly, that is.)LOL.

As for Peanut's heart murmer, our first dog, Sandy, had a heart murmer. She had it most of her life. She started coughing when she was about 11 yrs. old. They found that her heart was enlarged. She had no medication, and what I did when she seemed to be having worse coughing days, was to take a Hall's cough candy, one of their strongest, and melt it in some water, about 1/4 cup, cool, and then let her drink this. The vet was fine with this and the menthol in the cough candy soothed and opened her airways.

She did very well. We finally led her to the rainbow staircase when she was 17 3/4 yrs. old. She led a very good life. Don't let this diagnosis scare you. Peanut will probably live a very normal life. That is, if living with you is considered normal?LOL. Don't worry dear, she'll be OK.
