Hi Spark Friends!

Geez, I haven't blogged in agesssss. My bad! I am ashamed of myself. But here I am, to make amends.

Eeeesh so much is happening for me right now...good things. Work is becoming manic (in a good way) since I was offered this new role. I absolutely love it. I feel like the whole company is now respecting me and my input in ways they never did before. I'm a young'un in a company full of oldies (men, mostly) so I really have to work hard to hold my own. It's meant later nights at work and more pressure, but it's gonna be worth it in the end. And the pay helps too

Hmmm what else. Oh, my lovely boyfriend has moved to Dubai for 3 months for work (yayyyy and boooo at the same time!). I'm so unbelieveably proud of him, he works so damn hard. He's having an amazing time out there. He's been there just 4 days, and he never wants to leave. I'm gonna go stay with him for 10 days in October, which is super exciting. I've never been to Dubai before, and he says it's amazing (although a little bit too hot right now), so I can't wait. Gotta get beach ready for it time.

So, as the title of this blog suggests, I have joined that Spark trick or treat 5K thingamajig! GO ME! Basically, 5 weeks to be able to run 5K. I'm properly excited. I do 5K on the treadmill pretty much every week, but running outside is soooooo much harder. I started last Sunday, and managed to totally out-do my expectations and ran 2.98 miles in 32 minutes (and that was doing 1 min walk, 3 mins jog intervals for 32 minutes). So fingers crossed in 5 weeks I'll be able to do the full 3.1 miles (5K) in my goal of 30 minutes. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

On top of all that, probably the thing I'm MOST excited about...I've decided to start swimming! Eeeeek! So, anyone that knows me knows that I can already swim (only front crawl though) but I'm sooo scared of being in the water that I literally thrash about like a crazy woman til I reach the other end, then cling on to the side for dear life, then thrash about again until I reach the other side. SO not cute! Plus I'm petrified of being in water where I can't put my feet down if I need to. So I'm taking a 13-week 'adult improver' swimming course starting from next Monday! LOL! It's only £3 a session, which I think is a proper bargain. My plan is to learn to look nice and sleek in the water (hahaha) and also I need to learn how to do the breast stroke. Cos I've seen people at the gym pool doing a nice slow breast stroke up and down for like 45 minutes straight. Me, with my 'thrash stroke', I can only do 2 laps before collapsing! So that's the plan. Once I becoming a brilliant swimmer (fingers crossed) I think I'm gonna add it into my gym routine, maybe a couple of mornings a week of something.

That's about it for now. Now I'm on this 5K thing, I'm definitely gonna blog some more. I forgot how much I like it. 2nd run is tonight...wish me luck emoticon

Til next time Sparkies emoticon
