Hooray for Doggies!

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

A bit of a cheater blog, I was sent this link and wanted to share it to all the dog and Military lovers out there. One picture I noticed was a dog and his handler both wearing gas mask.

This was posted for fun as well as I am sure the person who created it intended. But Military dogs are warriors and defenders of our country. You rarely hear of dogs that are killed in action, but they truly are heroes sniffing out IED and leading our troops.

Pray for our troops and their four legged companions to be safe so we can sleep safely at night.

But, oh my, the comment above me...

Took our darling little puggle to the vet for her check-up today. She is 48 now in people years. Dr says her eye's lens is starting to get cloudy and she has arthritis in her back knees.

Sigh. Don't we wish our beloved pets could stay young forever! Our kitty is 14!

There is quite a bond between those in the military and their dogs. They are very touching stories. Thanks for sharing the link.

There was a very sad story on the news here in the UK a few months ago.
One of our young bomb disposal personnel was sadly killed in Afghanistan on his second tour of duty. His trusted canine friend and partner himself died two days later. I think the dog was broken hearted, such was the bond between the two of them emoticon
