Re: My Little Experiement

Monday, September 12, 2011

Although I will continue with my experiment until Thursday, I decided to start tracking my food this past Sunday. I was astonished by just how many calories I am taking in. When I calculated what I though was a healthy salad for lunch it came up to a whopping 600+ calories. The same for my breakfast of eggs, meat substitute patties, and hash browns. Either I have a really distorted view of what is healthy or my portions are way off. Either way I see I am going to have to make some serious changes.

Uhuh, same thing with me. Things that I think look healthy, especially the cereals, when I look at the nutriotion value, make me nearly fall from surprise!

Thanks for posting your experiment result here, it also serves as a reminder for us how deceitful the foods are, hehe.

I think that most have a skewed view of what they/we really consume in a day of eating. Tracking really helps, even to those veteran SParkers. From time to time I find it helpful to "get back into the swing of things" and track. I too, can get into a rut and seem to "forget" what is good and bad.
