Getting back on track

Monday, September 12, 2011

It has been a while since I have written here. I have been holding steady on the weight loss for the last year or so. I would like to lose about another 25 to 30 pounds but it just hasn't been happening. I have been slacking in tracking my intake and excercise. Getting the excercise done isn't a problem just tracking it. I make it to the local YMCA Mon-Fri at noon almost every week. My biggest problem has been watching what I eat. Lately everything that I see looks and sounds good. And this last two years has been busy. Had a new sone two years ago at the same time I was taking an EMT class for my local fire department that I have been on for 12 years. A year ago my wife was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had her thyroid removed and had radiation treatments. She is going in this week for a follow up body scan just to check and make sure that everything is still clear. Hopefully in the next year things will slow down just bit.

I think with all the craziness and stress in your life, you need to make time for you. If you don't take care of yourself, you may also get sick. Make quite times to just relax, read a book, read your bible, or listen to music to wind down. you could also take journaling serious, Because it isn't just to lose weight, it's to try to eat better, and not get illnesses. You need to stay healthy to see your children grow up into adults, and get married, and have grand children. journaling ahead of meals helps you get organized, and stay healthier, and fitter. Tell the kids that mommy isn't feeling good, and that she needs to rest more by herself, with daddy to help her. Then get them into their own rooms. If they are scared read to them/ some short story-or make up one. Give them a nite light, or keep the door opened if they are scared. You can read a brief passage in the Bible about what God says about being scared or strength. We as parents need to teach our children how to be strong to leave the nest! Always remember that spiritual strength comes from reading God's Word.
