I spoke too soon

Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?
I am feeling that question this morning. In my blog yesterday, I spoke about noticing the pollen and needing to stay diligent about my lung health. I don't know if I was already starting to feel a tickle in my chest, and I just didn't notice it. Or maybe the fact that I was paying attention to my lungs, made me notice later in the day. Either way, about mid day yesterday, my lungs started to feel like I had stuffed cotton balls into them. I started coughing (with a nice little rumble) and having a hard time breathing. Yes, the girl who ran 7 miles in the morning had a hard time walking up a flight of stairs last night.
So I am now 100% into healing mode. I did a breathing treatment last night and will do another one as soon as I post this. I have added a decongestant to my daily routine. I skipped the bike ride I was thinking about doing this morning and slept in until 8am today (that's 9 hours sleep for me!) Since it is now Football season, I should have no trouble at all relaxing all day and giving myself the energy I need ot heal my lungs.
Tomorrow is my short recovery run. That should be a good test of how my lungs are coming along. If it doesn't go very well, I'm going to make an appointment to see my pulminologist right away. This year I WILL NOT wait until I have full blown bronchitis before I seek help!
