Week 1 of getting back on track (warning:w/ details of female problems)

Saturday, September 10, 2011

I have been 100% perfect about sticking to my healthy eating plan but sadly after a great start to the fitness side of things I've had a set back. I worked out like crazy on Monday and Tuesday even though I could tell that something was up with my kidney or bladder. As I had just finished my period I put it down to being linked to that but by Wednesday it was getting out of hand. By Friday I caved and went to the doctor. It turns out I have thrush in my urinary tract- possibly the first sign of menopause! So I'm on some anti-fungal pills and am waiting for the bloating, stinging and discomfort to go away. Sorry if this is too much info but I've never had this before and it's been all consuming!

The flipside is that I only wanted to do the right thing for my body this week and besides being frustrated about having to hold of on exercise, I'm doing the right thing for my body now and in the future. And although the menopause may take days, months or even years to arrive, I'm gearing up healthfully. Anyway- it hurts to sit down so I'm off for a gentle walk that won't stir things up down yonder ;-}

    If you're still feeling pain, AZO can help with that, but it only addresses the pain. I have had several UTIs over the past few years and know how uncomfortable and painful they can be. Hope you feel better soon!

    Ooof, that must be uncomfortable! I sympathize!! On the bright side -and we always find one somewhere, don't we-, recent studies have shown that women who are fit and in good health when menopause does arrive, have many fewer complaints than those who aren't. I knew we were on to something... emoticon
