Banana Pancakes....

Thursday, September 08, 2011

Sorry for the entry title. It actually has nothing to do with anything. I was just thinking of my boyfriend who introduced me to Jack Johnson's music and Banana Pancakes is one of my all-time favorite songs of his. My thought process (is sadly) a cycle that only makes sense to me. I'm trying to find the motivation to start working out. I have a fear of working out in public because I don't have the typical body size. I'm short and curvy. I have red hair, freckles, and pale skin. I have this irrational fear of people making fun of me because I don't have blonde hair, long legs, and I have a butt. I don't like wearing shorts to the gym because of my pale skin. I feel that others are judging me. But, I just want to let them know that I can't control the color of my skin! I refuse to get burned just so I can (possibly) have a tan. Do any of y'all have these irrational fears?! I've decided I'm going to try and walk in the cemetery across the street from my apartment at least 3 times a week. I feel like this a good start. I also want to swim 3 days a week. My friend always tells me to ignore the other people in the gym (like she does). I want to remind her that she is, in fact, a blonde, with long legs and no curves. She is also what people consider to be a normal skin color. This was really not meant to be a depressing entry but more of an entry to explain my hesitance to exercise at a gym. So...until next time....Au revoir mon petit ami!

    Hey Girlfriend!
You are so open and honest about your feelings and have a great writing style. I look forward to more of your blogs. I'm trying to find the courage to write my own. I think you look beautiful-{you forgot to mention your wonderful striking green eyes}, take it from someone who knows you pretty well! You are off to a good start on SP! emoticon

Push through no matter what. Keep your eyes on the goal, A HEALTHIER YOU! Sometimes a gym can be intimidating but you are there for you, if anyone looks at you funny ignore them, they're the ones with the issue. I too avoid the big gym because they seem more like a meat market. But I do go the YMCA, they have just as good machines and programs there.

And everyone seems to be minding their own business after all they're there trying to get a workout just like me not to be judging. It's not a competition.

Walking by your house is good until you feel more at ease but sometimes WE have to step out of our comfort zone, especially when it comes to our health. There's nothing wrong with curves. You are UNIQUE, not meant to be like everyone else so DO YOU and what is right for you and if that is getting healthier and that means going to the gym than you do what is going to MAKE YOU BETTER, forget ignorants you may come across.

Hey girl. I have all kinds of crazy fears but not like this. I am new to sp and kinda scoping everything out. I am a redhead and have pale skin and like you refuse sunlight. lol. I go to the gym and once your on the treadmil for a few minutes its a feeling of freedom and nobody in the gym matters. and it turns out people find pale skin very attractive...and girls hate me because they want my hair! and you...wow. you are gorgeous! I may not be a diet/fitness guru but I am grateful for the gym. hope this can be helpful.
