Give It My All Month...The Beginning

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

Well as I said in my last blog, I am making September my "Give it my all" month. So I joined 2 teams I think will help and fit in very nicely with this endeavor: BLC17 and the 5% Fall Challenge. I am so excited to get started.

The only problems I am incurring right now is I am having surgery on Wednesday and it is supposed to rain all week long. Both are going to make it hard to get out and walk like I normally do. I might just have to suck it up and walk in the rain. Maybe the fact I am getting wet will make me walk faster, lol.

Since I have surgery tomorrow morning and it is my official weigh-in day, I am going to weigh in this morning and take all my measurements for tomorrow. I am sure one day is not going to make that much of a difference.

I have a lot of weight to lose...and I am determined to do so. I even entered to do the virtual 5k fall race on here. It gives me something to aim for and one of my goals was to participate in a 5k by the end of this year. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any actual ones around here that work with my work schedule. So this will be perfect.

So here are my beginning numbers for September:

Starting Weight: 224.4

Measurements:
Arm: 14
Chest: 45
Waist: 42
Hip: 46
Thigh: 21.5

Like I said, I have a lot of work cut out for me...but I will do it. It might take time, but as long as I keep making honest efforts, I will get the weight and inches off.

Great blog! My measurements are very similar to yours, so I know exactly what you mean when you say you've got a long way to go! But we can do it!

Also, about the 5K - I see that you're in Pennsylvania, and I just wanted to mention that the American Diabetes Association has a free 5K race every year during their annual scientific conference, for conference participants and the community. I was going to the conference last year (I'm a diabetes researcher), and signed up for the 5K on a whim. I mostly walked, with a little jogging, but it was a blast - there were almost 1000 people! Last year the conference was in San Diego, but this year (June 2012) it will be in Philadelphia.

Here's a link to last year's race, if you want to take a look:
